Our teachers are graduates of the Advanced
Teacher Training Course at the Wingate Institute
Orit is a
graduate of the Hebrew University with degrees in Sanskrit and Indian
Philosophy, and translated the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali from Sanskrit to Hebrew
(published 1992). She has been practicing yoga for over 30 years. At the age of
20 she traveled to India to study at Sri Aurobindo Ashram. She spent a number
of years in India studying with Dr. Pratap of Lonvala Institute, Swami
Krishnananda of Sivinanda Ashram, Sri B.K.S. Iyengar and Mr. Pattabhi Jois. Her
path led to a decade-long collaboration with Donna Hollemman. Together they
authored the yoga text, Dancing the Body of Light. Since 1995 Orit has taught
the advanced yoga teacher training course at Wingate College. She lives in
Jerusalem on Neve Sha’anan Street with her two daughters.
Zehava is a
graduate of the Jerusalem Rubin Academy of Dance. She has been practicing yoga
for 18 years and teaching yoga for 12 years. Zehava worked or a number of years
in astrological counseling. Zehava is a mother of three, grandmother of four,
and lives with Chai.
Noga is a
graduate of the departments of Indian Studies and Hebrew Literature at the
Hebrew University in Jerusalem. She teaches an advanced yoga teacher training
course at Tel Aviv University in conjunction with Wingate College. She has been
practicing yoga for 18 years and teaching yoga for 11 years. Noga lives in
Jerusalem with her husband Gali and their two children Hagi and Hillel.
Liora was
introduced to yoga in Dharmasala in northern India, where she learned for some
years meditation and Tibetan Buddhism. She has been practicing yoga for 13
years. Liora has been trained in support and accompaniment for terminal
patients. She also works with people who have respiratory problems. Liora lives
in Moshav Aminadav with her husband and her two children.
Aaron is a
musician, jazz performer and teacher for 20 years. He is a graduate of the
Jerusalem Rubin Academy of Music and accompanies and teaches musical ensembles
at the Jerusalem Youth Orchestra. Aaron has been practicing yoga for 11 years
and is the administrative manager of the center. He lives in Jerusalem with his
daughter, Eliya.
Yael is
currently writing her doctorate on Contemplative Consciousness and the
Desirable Socio-political Order: a Study of Maimonidies abd Spinoza. She has been
practicing yoga for 10 years. In addition to her regular yoga classes, Yael
teaches a class of pre and post-natal yoga. She lives with her husband Shabbtai
and their son Noam.
